ACCESS BANK RAISES FRAUD ALERT EDUCATES CUSTOMERS|FLYCOMNEWS

  Access Bank Plc has implored customers to be vigilant over rising cases of fraud. It said it has observed worrying increase in reports of fraudsters targeting unsuspecting customers since the coronavirus pandemic started. Access Bank said the fraudsters operate like bank representatives and use government palliatives to bait customers with a view to getting their BVNs and other key details. Its Executive Director, Retail Banking, Victor Etuokwu, said: “Access Bank is imploring its customers to be wary of any message, demanding their personal or bank details. Customers must remember that the Bank will never ask for their BVN, full card PAN, PIN, mobile app activation code, OTP or password as it is readily available to the Bank via its database. “Any call, email and text message, claiming to be from Access Bank demanding for any of these details is certainly a scam.” Access Bank has always maintained a strong anti-fraud awareness as part of its responsibility to protect the interes...

Keystone Bank: 34 Winners emerge in Growbiz Account Promo

Fidelity Bank empowers over 200 youth Gazelle Academy with entrepreneurial skills in Anambra State

Determined to reduce unemployment levels in the country, Fidelity Bank Plc, in partnership with Gazelle Academy and the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka on Friday concluded an entrepreneurship training programme for over 200 students in Anambra State. The programme which formally kicked off Wednesday ended with a call to Nigerian youths to embrace entrepreneurship and create wealth for themselves instead of searching endlessly for non-existing paid jobs. Organised under the Fidelity Youth Empowerment Academy (YEA 6), the programme seeks to empower the Nigerian undergraduate with vocational skills and enterprise training which are relevant for self-reliance. SME: ECOBANK TO TOP FIVE IN 2019 NIGERIA BANKING CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE SURVEY

The 2019 Nigeria banking industry customer experience survey report recently published by KPMG Nigeria showed that Ecobank Nigeria recorded significant improvement in the SME segment of the survey. According to the report, analysis of performance in the SME segment reveals dynamism in the 2019 ranking. Despite lower levels of overall satisfaction for SMEs, Fidelity Bank and Ecobank made the greatest improvements with both banks moving up more than four places into the top five banks. FCMB emerged 1st while Access Bank came 3rd. In the retail segment, the top two performers have remained the same for the fourth consecutive year. GTBank replaced Zenith Bank as the top-rated bank in the 2019 ranking. Sterling Bank, First Bank and UBA are the biggest movers in 2019, coming in 3rd, 5th and 7th places respectively. Nasarawa Revenue Board Debunks Fraud Story on Ecobank

Nasarawa State Government has dissociated itself from fake publications on some online platforms (not ours) that the State’s internal revenue audit unveiled a tax scandal involving some Nigerian banks, particularly Ecobank Nigeria. This was contained in a disclaimer signed by the Executive Chairman of Nasarawa State Government Board of Internal Revenue Service, Ahmed Yakubu Muhammed and addressed to Ecobank Nigeria. As contained in the disclaimer, the false publication is said to be sponsored by ‘One Forensic Accounting Consultancy Firm based in Lagos.’ Extract of the statement read “This is notice is coming on the heels of the ongoing publication tagged ‘Nasarawa State IGR fraudulent scandal  practices engulfing several Nigerian Banks in Nasarawa State’ originating from the Nigerian Voice and possibly other outlets operating in the country as contained in the same publication sponsored by one Forensic Accounting Consultancy Firm in Lagos, Nigeria. “However, i...
