Fury knocks down Wilder in rematch| Flycomnews

By Fashina Shakiru Flycomnews Britain’s Tyson Fury heavyweight championship has knocked down Deontay Wilder on Saturday, overwhelming his opponent to earn a seventh round technical knockout in Las Vegas. The highly-anticipated super fight rematch between the two titans, Fury took control late in the first round and never relinquished it. He took total control in the third where he landed a right hand to Wilder’s left ear to drop him to the canvas. Wilder lost his concentration and strength to regained his foot as the referee rest the match to rest Fury (30-0-1) now takes the WBC crown from Wilder (42-1-1) and settles the score between the two.

MEDIA ACCREDITATION BEGINS FOR 2020 ACCESS BANK LAGOS CITY MARATHON

The accreditation process for media practitioners interested in covering the 2020 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon has officially commenced. Head of Communications and Media for the marathon, Olukayode Thomas in a statement at the weekend explained that there would be two categories of accreditation that would be given to interested journalists based on merit. Thomas explained that journalists will be required to send in their passport photographs and biodata to  Marathon2020accreditation@gmail.com “Yes, the process of accreditation is officially on and it will run for the next three weeks,” Thomas stated. “Journalists are expected to send in their passport photographs and biodata to the email address provided or bring the same to the Marathon Village situated inside the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos” he added. Nigerian Sport Ministry ready to Partners with MultiChoice

Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare, has declared his ministry’s readiness to partner with MultiChoice Nigeria in its bid to revamp the country’s sports sector. The minister made the declaration in Abuja on Thursday when Mr. John Ugbe, Chief Executive Officer, MultiChoice Nigeria paid him a courtesy visit in his office. Dare stated that the ministry has, as its major agenda, a reset of the sports sector to ensure a vibrancy, a goal he believes MultiChoice is well positioned to help bring to fruition. Components of the envisaged reset, the minister said, include a revamp of infrastructure, deliberate talent development initiatives and drive for corporate sector involvement to accelerate financial growth of the sector.
