It was an historic eventful and memorable occasion yesterday Sunday 28th July 2019 when 15th Chief Imam Quranic Muslim Community of Lagos, Quranic Central Mosque Lagos Nigeria was officially turbaned Alhaji Chief Imam Abdul. Rasheed Olakunle Ajose (B.Sc, M.Ed) at the Tafawa Balewa Square Complex Race Course, Lagos with witnessed led by over 15 League of Imams, highly respected religious leaders, politicians, board of trustees , families, relatives and well wishers to graced the occasion. The Quranic Community Mosque which was built in 1876 after it part ways from the main body Lagos Muslim Community known as Lagos Central Mosque.
The welcome address was given by the chief host of the occasion, Alhaji Chief Abdul Yekeen Olawale Bakare Seriki Adinni Quranic Muslim Community, In his eloquent welcome address said Quranic Muslim Community of Lagos thank Allah for bringing all of us together to witness this historic event , the turbaning of our new Chief Imam, Alhaji Chief Abdul Rasheed Olakunle Ajose.
This unique occasion signifies a new dawn for Quranic Muslim Community in Lagos . We give thanks and glory to Allah who out of compassionate mercy helped all of us collectively to attain this milestone.
Precisely, the new Chief Imam was appointed on Friday 15th February 2019. I want to affirm that his appointment is in line with provisions of the constitution of the community and also the choice of Allah. He satisfies the required qualifications mentioned by scholars; relevant knowledge, mental stability, maturity and good health. He is also well educated, a personality of good moral, conduct and courage, Bakere added.
He furthered urges that, I want to use this opportunity to tell our new chief Imam that his new leadership position confers more duties than privileges. Among others things, some of these duties are consultantions, patience, justice ( adjudication) teaching and responsibilties to the Jamat. I will like you to discharge your responsibilities with the fear of Allah and also with belief that Allah is sufficient as the Disposer of your affairs, Bakere said.
Guest Lecturer Shelk Abdul Hakeem Muh., Awwal chief Missioner IKWAN in his erudent sermon and icited from the verse of the holy Quran and illustrated and narrated how God Almighty ordained prophet Ibraheem to led the congregation of Muslim ummah to pray and solat as the first Imam of the universe. As the sametime, how he related and conducted with fellows Sabbans with proper knowledge of lslam, doctrine of solat, hadith, patience, guidance, understanding with relating with his ummah as this played out in most of the contemporary society of the Muslim ummah to emulate from prophet Ibraheem while selecting a leaders look into some major essential of qualities of a good leaders. Knowledge of Al-Islam, Constutantion, Justice, behavior , attitude and psychology well being and fear of Allah and sure that Alhaji Chief Imam Abdul Rasheed Olakunle Ajose qualified and has been ordained by God Almighty as mentioned above.
He argued all the Executive members of the Committee, Board Member and Board of Trustee to support and give him inclusive assistant to make the progress and service of Allah . Also call on Muslim ummah in the community to support, guide and pray for him as he can't do it alone without the total support of the muslim community ummah, Awwal said
When Chief Imam speaking with the news men at the event said that give thanks to God alone to witnessed official turbaned and having appointed as the Chief Imam Quranic Muslim Community on 15th of February. As today, marks official turbianing and staff of Office as the 15th Chief Imam of Quranic Muslim Community with others turbaned like Akewusola and Otun Balogun Adinni.
This mantle of leadership and position is ordained by will of Allah and God Almighty should be guide and light of guidance, assistance, support and patience for anyone whose wants to be in a position of leadership to the service of Allah is the most important.
while urged that not everyone will be in a position of leadership to serve Allah or to become an Imam except divine intervention.
He appealed to Lagos State Government to continue his good works and ensure to work more on education, health, transportation and creating jobs for Lagosians as one day, the state will get to the advanced stage of others countries in the world.
The Chief Imam used the venue pray for all those who grace the occasion, families, relatives, well wishers especially members of the executive member, planning committee and board of Trustees as God Almighty will rewards everyone abundantly .
Alhaji Chief Yusuf Adekunle Oseni the newly turnabed Akewusola Quranic Community Muslim , propietor of Deen Master Private School, Lagos Island said highly delighted and big thanks and appreciate for the recognition and honored with the title as the Akewusola Quranic Muslim Community.
He urges others philanthropists to contribute for the course of Allah and propagating the lslam to the world and try to contribute and emulate this gesture and spend whatever they have in the cause to the service of Allah, Oseni advised.
Among notable personalities at the official turbabing were the chairman of the day Alhaji Umar Saro, Alhaja Sherifat Olugbode Asiwaju Adinni Quranic Community Mosque, Alhaji Chief Abdul Yakeen Olawale Bakare Seriki Musulumi Quranic Community Mosque and Baba Adinni Eric-Osa, Alhaji Chief Rasheed B. Fanimokun Aare Adinni Quranic Community Mosque, Alhaja Chief Afusat Ajiboye Iya Adinni Quranic Community Mosque, Alhaja Chief Mulikat Atinuke Idris Akewusola Quranic Community Mosque.
