OMOOBA OJORA, COUNCILLOR WARD G1 CONSTRUCTS 3 BOREHOLES IN LAGOS ISLAND EAST LCDA. | Fashina Mobolaji Shakiru



..As Party leaders commissioned projects, community leaders, residents, others applaud the gesture.

Lawmaker, representing Ward G1 Lagos Island East LCDA, Lagos State, Prince Hon.Omooba Shamusideen Ojora has again constructed and commissioned three (3) Boreholes to end the perennial search for water on Saturday 2nd November 2019.


Speaking with correspondent from Islanders  Magazine at the event,  Ojora revealed that the community had for decades been suffering for search unsafe drinkable water as the  major problem people of Lagos island East LCDAs facing and decided to embark on the projects to easy the stress for water searching from different miles.


He explains further, having realized and see what people are passing through on daily basis in the hands of Truck Water Pushers and exhortbant amount paid for ten (10) Jerry Cans of full Truck of water is N500 per truck spending on daily basis.

 I decided  to embark on the projects in my constituency ward G1, to ensure that the people have accessibility to drinkable water without stress under Lagos Island East from Epe by Tapa street, Oshodi by Tokunboh Road, and Inabinre Street, Lagos Island East, Lagos.


According to him, "What inspired me most on the construction of borehole on those major areas, is the alleviation of hardship that people of my community are passing through on a daily basis and this had been in my mind for over many years to cushion the pains.

“You can see the magnitude of people here; I’m doing this out of the little I have because I believe so much in my people and they should not suffer in all aspects of life, Ojora Said.
He further stated that, "the borehole will be power by electricity and a stand by generator  each for the (3) three boreholes. They should make optimal use of the projects and also protect them as public property and public utilities."


While cautioned and advised the generally public on the use of waste, heap of refused blocked the drainages most times rainfall as a result of man made caused by the people.

The regular clearing and carting away of drainage from Oshodi street, Adeniji Adele, Igbogbose road, Epetedo street, Olowu street and Rasaki Okoya (formerly cow lane) by Lewis Junction refused blocking drainage has been cleared off from time to time to avoid flooding of disasters and any forms communicable diseases.
He advised they should continue to stand by the ruling party All Progressive Congress( APC) in Lagos Island, Lagos state particularly at Federal level as more still coming to serve the people.

Mr Omobolaji Pitan (Father) gave remarkable congratulations, expressed enthusiasm over the uncommon gesture of Prince Ojora, saying other councillors in the legislative Chamber should emulate such spirit.
Pitan said to Islanders Magazine that, this project is a way of showing commitment to the people of the ward and they should support him to do more.

The official projects commissioned by dignitaries of the party faithful, Mr Rasheed Shobaloju (APC LGA chairman), commissioned first at Tapa street, Chief Ibikunle Bailey (Oluwo Jakande of Lagos) ably represented by his daughter, Miss Aina Bailey commissioned the borehole project mounted at Inabere and Mr Emmanuel Mobolaji Pitan (A.k.a Father) finally commissioned the borehole at Tokunboh juncture.

Community leaders, party leaders, wards leaders, who at the commissioned of the Borehole project, thanked Hon Ojora for his magnanimity and urged the residents of Epetedo street, Oshodi and Inabire to maintain the efficient of the borehole
