The Executive Chairman Lagos Island Local Government Prince Tijani Adetoyese Olusi has enmarked on sentilization program of pandemic global Corona Virus (Covid-19) in Lagos Island, Lagos state.

Olusi, who made this known on his official Facebook page that "the program, which is aimed at sensitizing  and  educating the people of Lagos Island on the importance of personal hygiene, regular washing of hands, avoiding gatherings of more than 20 people among other things".

He further said, for safety and healthy living environment deratization and decontamination of the rodents and public Utilities, Market and public places important at this crucial period.

According to him, the environmental committee will ensure to get rid of rodents which has been identified as host to Lassa Virus". In furtherance to the curbing of the global Corona Virus (Covid-19) and Lassa Fever outbreak, an enlightenment program will be carry out to other market places henceforth.


The Sensitization program continues on Friday 27th March, with the clearing of dead rodents within the community, and fumigation of other areas while market places have been carried out successfully in Pelewur and Maboreje arket.

The Mayor implored all good people of Lagos Island to adhere to the rules aimed at curbing and protecting us from this deadly disease.

The helicopter conveying Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has crash-landed in Kabba, Kogi State on Saturday afternoon According to information by Laolu Akande, Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity) to the Vice President, the incident occurred on Saturday afternoon. A faction of Afenifere, a pan Yoruba social-cultural group, on Tuesday in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari as its candidate for the February 16th election. The Senator Ayo Fasanmi-led faction said it took the decision because of Buhari’s sterling performances. At the endorsement which took place at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan were Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Chief Ayo Fasanmi, Deputy Governor of Lagos and Ogun States, Mrs. Idiat Adebule and Mrs. Yetunde Onanuga and former Minister, Demola Seriki who represented Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
