Executive Director A & A transport motors Prince Ajele Abeyin Abayomi has appealed to Lagos state government as exercise carried out by the Environmental Enforcement Task Force on Sunday 1st of March 2020 at Ecomog office complex Mile 2 Bus Stop, Lagos.
The Director who also the branch chairman National Union of Road Transportation Workers NURTW, (Ecomog) Mile 2, Lagos when addressing the journalists, says over Twenty million Naria has been spent to sand filling the demolition of Ecomog inter state transportation park.
While appealing to Executive Governor of Lagos state , Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu to reconsider to allocate piece of land that will contain over Fifty (50) of transport buses to commence their legitimate transportation activities in the area.
According to him, "there are many corporate transportation companies both local and international like A & A motors, Eyenis motors, liberal motors, Lamb of God's motors, Prince line motors etc. We operate across various Twenty-Four (24) city-states of Nigeria from this Ecomog park for past Fourth (40) years. Since demolition of exercise taken place, most passengers find it difficult to access the park as this affecting the transporters from Ecomog park", says Abayomi.
"Three weeks before the demolition, we spent over twenty million naria sand filling the space for easy access for the passengers and all the inter states city buses from Ecomog park Mile 2 branch in Lagos while we are running lost as no space to operate at this time, Abayomi laments.
He comments, Ecomog park is corporate associate of responsible transporters in Mile2 Amuwo Odofin which does not operate on major road against the T.H.E.M.E agenda of Lagos Lagos government on transportation and traffic management without considering the ply of commuters.
He added, "we have tried to reached the commissioner for transportation and Director of Physical Planning in Lagos state to inform that no formal notification for demolition of the park.
what we seen on Tuesday morning was Task Force Agency came to paste a stick of evacaution in our office within seven (7) days while to our surprised came on Sunday morning to demolition Ecomog park office".
He noted, over the years they have been complimentary partners with state government within Amuwo Odofin Local Government; on developmental projects, revenue collection boosters, educational support programs, sponsor inter-house sports competition, creation of employment opportunities, complimentary security agncies for reduction of crime and peacekeeping mission and finally unflinching political support for the ruling party in Lagos state and Nigeria as grassroots mobilizer
