Since the outbreak of COVID-19 from the epicenter of Wuhan, Hubei province, China which has enveloped the whole world in a standstill of noise, fear and danger economic recession.

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a universal epidemic virus affecting 186 countries in the world.

According to global data which shows that COVID-19 cases recorded 288,035; death stood 11,949, recovered 93, 617, mild condition 178, 352, and critical condition 8, 117 as China has the highest incident of( COVID-19) 81, 008 of 3,225 death recorded.

The African continent has more than 700 cases, Egypt has 285 cases recorded with no death records, while Nigerian state records 25 confirmed cases as at the time of filling this report.

As the Director-General World Health Organization(WHO) Dr Tedoros Adhanom emphasised that this period is not for fear but facts from medical scientists and not rumors, solidarity and not stigma. With this assertion from Tedros, it shows how the Nigerian government is set to prevent, control, manage and cure this globe threat of COVID-19 epidemic.

With the current epidemic situation on the world altogether,  Nigerian estimated population of 200 million has no control prevention health facilities has little or no facilities to manage this global virus, what measures has the government put in place to curb the scourge?

So far, the government has taken some measures by sensitizing and enlightening the general public and various ministries, corporations, agencies, and private sectors through the ministry of health in collaboration with various state governments, on how people should take care of their personal hygienes.

According to Minster of Health Dr., Osaige Ehanire who stressed that people should look after their hygiene, avoid social gatherings, wash your hands with soap, and alcohol sanitizer frequently to avoid the contract of the virus.

It is relevant to state at this juncture that, Nigerian government was not fully equipped and prepared to prevent, control, manage and cure this global warming COVID-19. Their preparedness in terms of health facilities, kits, bio center for diseases control in every states of the federation will determine how well to go and avoid unnecessary panic mood. The ability to manage the victims to be quarantined for proper safety and to be adequately attended to in a good ventilated environment. Mostly, some  states need to work with the support of federal government to achieve their goals.

As the numbers increased globally every day, the Nigerian government is set to shut down all educational institution, social, religious gatherings,  and avoid people having  body contact, while her two major international airports; Muritala International Airport in Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja also temporarily suspended from operation. This is to  manage and control the number of international inflow, and having banned some 13 countries with high risk of COVID-19, namely; China, US, UK, Switzerland, Norway, Italy, Germany, France, South Korea, Japan, Spain and Holland etc.

To a large extent, this is going to slow down the economic activities of states within nation, who happen to be in danger ahead of economic recession that might confront the global stage. If the world leaders don't find the lasting solutions to this epidemic virus, then I fear the worst. The noise and fear of day-to-day from oil capitalist states, global stock market and restrictions of trade movement locally and globally in the coming days is something to worry about. What is the world doing about this pandemic that brings about the uncertainty of life?
