CORONAVIRUS: Olusi inaugurates emergency health response committee in Lagos Isand |By Fashina Shakiru
The Executive Chairman Lagos Island Local Government Honourable Prince Tijani Adetoseye Olusi has inaugurated emergency preparedness and response (EPR) committee to prevent am outbreaks of any incident diseases.
He made this known while addressing the members of the committee in his office today.
He said; this administration is ready to provide maximum support in terms of funds and other resources of any incidence of Lassa fever and international corona virus.
According to information available to our correspondence, Olusi said "in furtherance to the translation of the Lagos State Government’s policy on qualitative healthcare delivery and in a bid to stem the incidence of Lassa Fever and proactive to prevent an outbreak of the novel Corona Virus."
Lagos Island Local Government has inaugurated an Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPR) Committee which is saddled with the implementation of guidelines and frameworks for the mitigation of an outbreCORONcording to him, "I am optimistic that with the help of Social Media, Community Informants and Health Facilities Personnel, early detection of diseases will be easier. This administration is ready to provide maximum support in terms of funds and other resources", Olusi said.
He said, however, the Lagos State Commissioner for Health Prof., Emmanuel Akinola Abayomi, has lauded the prompt and proactive response of Lagos Island Local Government in the inauguration of the EPR Committee.
Presently, Nigeria has cases of Lassa Fever, and is equally watchful of the global Corona Virus pandemic.
