Ekomi Royal embarks on social work in Lagos Island,|Flycomnews

The Convener Ekomi, Royal Mr Rasaq Adekunle Qudus has embarked on social responsibility to evacuate solid waste materials from the channels for free flow of sewages.


In a message sent to the Flycomnews Correspondent on Sunday, "as part of our social responsibility Ekomi Royal. We decide to clear the drainage at Oripasan Street down to Adeniji Adele junction at ward C1 Lagos Island. This, part of social duty and responsibility to ensure our environment clear and clean from dirty".

Mr Rasaq Adekunle Qudus  is a SocialnMedia Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman Honourable Prince Tijani Adetoyose Olusi Lagos Island Local Government, says government from national, state and local levels can't do it alone without the support of the people engage in collective community responsibility in taken care of their surroundings for the healthy life living.

Adekunle also urges the people of Lagos Island to avoid dropping of refused on roads and streets. This causes most of drainages blocked during raining season.

Today, series of cases of diseases recorded globally and locally as a result of improper of waste management which has resulted from communicable diseases and noncommunicable diseases from the man made problems.

"Health is wealth, wealth is health means we most ensure personal hygiene and taken care of our surroundings to avoid unnecessary outbreaks of any diseases", he said.

He however, noted,  Ekomi Royal is a non governmental organization with sole responsiblilty of social, economic development,  environmental awareness and civic engagement of the young people in Lagos state particularly empowerement and create better opportunities for them.
