LASEMA boss visits council chairman in Lagos Island.| Fashina Shakiru
The Director General Lagos State Emergency Management Agency,(LASEMA) Dr. Oluwafemi Oke-Osanyintolu and his team pay courtesy to the Executive Chairman Lagos Island Local Government Honourable Prince Tijani Adetoseye Olusi at Council Secretariat yesterday.
The visit to the Local Government Secretariat , in appreciation to the initiative of our administration's launch of the Local Emergency Management Committee, Oke-Osanyintolu noted.
In his welcome address, said "use this opportunity to thank the Executive Chairman, Management and Staff of LASEMA for the support and prompt response you have been giving to us, especially as it relates to fire and emergency situations.
According to Oke-Osanyintolu, "LASEMA is planning a Response Unit with Fire Service for Lagos Island Local Government, to help in combating fire incident within Lagos Island.
He also promise to provide an effective machinery that will combat and prevent any form of emergency in Lagos Island.
Speaking earlier, Council Chairman said "due to incessant fire incident on the Island, we are looking at a bye law at the Local Government where we will make it compulsory for all shop occupants to have fire fighting equipment, and in averting regular fire infernos, we will be in need of LASEMA", Olusi said.
